Drabble 130

Finished 5:58.

Blue came back in a couple of hours later, soaking wet. “I think the stable roof might be leaking,” he gasped, throwing himself down on the floor. A puddle was already forming around him; he didn’t particularly want to sit in the puddle, but he really couldn’t be bothered to get up and get a towel. Raven was sorting through some paperwork and did not look too impressed with that news. “I really can’t afford something like that right about now,” he groaned, kicking his chair back from the table.
“Well tough, because the stable roof just collapsed,” replied Blue.

Drabble 129

Finished 4:17. At some point, there was going to be one about the weather...

Blue was really getting sick of Acellevin. Aside from the fact that there really weren’t that many people nearby that he could kill without inconveniencing himself, and those that did provide valid targets tended to run away pretty quickly when they saw him; it also rained far, far too much for his liking. It wouldn’t normally be so bad, since he’d just stay inside where it’s dry, but Raven was standing in the kitchen demanding that Blue go muck out the stables, and he had a look on his face that told Blue he didn’t want to be argued with.

Drabble 128

Finished 6:04. Shut up, you can give me four minutes. My university, however, will not, so I really need to get these essays done.

Raven was sat in his kitchen with a cup of tea. He hated to admit it, but it felt odd drinking tea without vodka in it. If he thought he could put up with Blue’s gloating he might have given up already, but even if he was willing to endure that, Blue really had been thorough about making sure he wouldn’t be able to get hold of anything alcoholic even three towns over. He had considered taking a job a three days ride away, since there was no way Blue could have influence that far, but then again he might.

Drabble 127

Strike five. This was finished at 00:17, one day late. Tonights will be along on time, but I can't say when. I have a 3500 essay due in tomorrow, and I have, ohh, about 600 written. I fell asleep at the computer last night when I was working on my psychology essay and hadn't had chance to write last night's. Sorry.

“How fucking hard is it just to write one hundred words?” Blue huffed. “If the Author can’t keep this up, s/he shouldn’t have started this thing to begin with.”
“I’m sure the Author has a very good excuse this time,” Raven told him.
“No, I’m pretty sure s/he just forgot and fell asleep,” argued Blue.
“Will then take that up with the Author,” snapped Raven. “And did you remember to feed your horse this morning?” he asked.
“I fed it yesterday, it’ll be fine,” replied Blue.
“Go and feed your damn horse, Blue,” demanded Raven, shoving Blue out the door.

Drabble 126

Finished 5:54.

Not drinking was a lot harder than Raven expected. It hadn’t even been a week and he was already finding himself halfway to the store before he remembered that he wasn’t supposed to be drinking. The worst part, though, was that Blue had insisted on holding him to it. He’d even go so far as to threaten all of the tavern staff into not allowing him alcohol, and probably the grocers, too. Even if he hadn’t been trying to remain sober, Blue had made it practically impossible for him to drink anywhere near the town in a matter of days.

Drabble 125

Finished 5:16. I'm doing another overnight in the library, working on a lab report that should really have been done a while ago, since I know I'll never get anything done if I have acess to my bed.

“Raven, where did the Author go?” asked Blue. “And, for that matter, where is the fourth wall? I’m sure I left it around here somewhere.”
“I’m not quite sure,” replied Raven. “I think the Author was working on some sort of experiment. I wasn’t really paying that much attention, though.”
“Wait, experiment? Is our Author some sort of mad scientist or something?”
“Well, s/he’s definitely mad, I’ll give you that much. But scientist may be pushing it a little,” sighed Raven.
After a beat, Blue asked “You really want to drink, don’t you?”
“So much it actually hurts,” replied Raven.
