Drabble 189

Finished 5:44. These zombie shorts are way too much fun, but I'm quickly running out of ways for everybody to die.

 

A group of survivors, hiding out in the woods, had lit a small fire in order to keep themselves warm. This might not have been a bad idea if any of them had any idea about maintaining a fire, but small fires don't tend to remain small, especially not in the middle of the woods, surrounded by potential fuel. The fire had only been left unattended for half of an hour at most while the survivors slept before the grass caught, and then the trees caught, and quicker than anyone could realise and escape the whole forest was on fire.
