Drabble 31

Finished 2:53. And I appear to have introduced some new characters. I'm'a go sleep now.

Raven would have found something to hit his head off of if he hadn’t been tied to the chair. “Why are you here, Anansi?” demanded Raven. He struggled against the ropes, something he usually wouldn’t have bothered with given how tightly they were tied, mostly just to make a point. “You don’t need to concern yourself with that,” Anansi replied. He stepped closer to Raven, directly in front of him but a little too far for Raven to have been able to kick him. “Besides,” he continued, “you’re only bait. As soon as Tzu arrives you’re going to be dead.

Drabble 30

Finished at 23:50. Hopefully more of these will now be done at reasonable times, since I now need to work at reasonable (read: not nocturnal) hours.

Eventually the horse wandered out of the woods and onto the road, which she followed downhill until she was back at Mary-Tzu’s tent. Blue and Tzu were still inside, and rather than stay outside and risk another encounter with the little man, the horse decided to push her way into the mercifully large tent, knocking Blue over on her way in. “Hey, what the hell?” he sputtered, struggling to his feet. “What is that stupid thi– Wait, since when does Raven’s horse have wings?” Blue turned to Mary-Tzu for a response, but she only shrugged and poured herself a drink.

Drabble 29

5:47. Really fucking late I know.

As she was running through the woods the strange tingling continued to spread through the horse’s back, an odd ache now covering her shoulders. Eventually it became too much and she stopped, fell to the ground, convulsing. She felt the skin at her shoulders stretch but didn’t understand what was happening. She lay on the ground, panting, until the ache in her shoulders subsided, her skin no longer stretched, and she found she could stand again, though with an odd weight now at her front. She walked, carefully, in the direction she had been running, desperate to escape the woods.

Drabble 28

Finished 4:40. Late, I know.

The horse floated motionlessly in the air for a moment. It was uncomfortable, and quickly she began to squirm and struggle, trying to reach her hooves down to the ground. She shook and convulsed, and an odd tingling spread down her back, peaking just at her shoulder blades. One last hard kick and she finally tumbled to the ground, the drop dazing her. She shook herself of and bolted from the circle, back the way they had come. She didn’t know the way back to the road but was sure if she ran long enough that she would reach it.

Drabble 27

Finished 1:59.

Confused and a little bit scared, the horse was ushered into the centre of the ring of toadstools. She stood there, stock still, waiting for some sign of what was happening. She was seriously regretting following the little man out into the woods. As she stood there the small people, including the seventh one who’d led her there, began to dance around the toadstools. Being Raven’s horse she may have snarked to herself about the ridiculousness of the situation, but she was a little too busy being overwhelmed. And then her hooves left the ground and she began to float.

Drabble 26

Finished 00:49. I bet nobody can guess where this is going (presuming anybody is reading this, of course)

Following the little man deeper into the woods, the horse quickly lost track of where, exactly, she was. This was more than a little worrying, since she was sure that she had places to be, but whenever she stopped to try and find her place the little man would coax her further with his handfuls of clover. She was beginning to regret having followed him rather than settling for the thistle at the side of the road when, finally, they reached what seemed to be their destination, a circle of toadstools on which sat six more short, green clothed humanoids.
