Drabble 59

Finished 2:22.

Anansi paced the halls of the manor house, kicking over vases and ornaments and occasionally servants. He had been expecting Tzu to turn up with a dozen or so guards and attempt to sneak in, and had set up traps and guards at strategic points in the building. He had not been prepared for her to knock on the front door, and he certainly hadn’t been prepared for her to come along save for Blue. His guards had been on the lookout for a small and had missed Tzu’s arrival by the sheer fact that they weren’t really paying attention.

Drabble 58

 Finished at 2:39.

After a few minutes of sulking by himself, Raven reluctantly joined Blue and Tzu, who were sitting quietly across the meadow. “So, if one of you would like to please explain to me what is going on here…” he mumbled, not actually looking at either of them. If there was one thing Raven disliked above all else then it was probably not knowing what was happening, and he hoped that getting an explanation would set his mind at ease. It did nothing of the sort when, after a moment, Tzu turned to him and answered, “I have absolutely no idea.”

Drabble 57

Finished at 5:25. I don't appear to be sleeping at the moment :(

While Raven and Blue collected themselves from the ground, Tzu paced the perimeter of the meadow, making absolutely certain that they were alone. When she was sure that they were she sat down beside her horse, watching Blue and Raven take pot-shots at one another. When they finally tired of their childish bickering Blue stamped his way over to Tzu, throwing himself down beside her in a huff and sulking. “Would someone please explain to me who that guy was and what the heck is going on?” he whined, pouting when Tzu ignored him in favour if adjusting her armour.

Drabble 56

 Finished at 5:22.

They stopped to rest in a meadow about halfway to Tzu’s tent. Blue tumbled out of the saddle, cursing the whole time, and collapsed into a heap on the ground. Raven didn’t fare much better in dismounting, catching his foot on a wing and falling face-first into the ground. He stayed there for a moment to regain his composure while Blue laughed at him. “You fell off too, you know,” Raven grumbled into the ground.
“Yes, but it’s funnier when it happens to you,” Blue replied, also still on the ground due to having sprained his ankle in the fall.

Drabble 55

Finished at 5:24.

Raven struggled even more to stay in the saddle than he had to get into it. His only comfort was that Blue was having even more trouble riding than him, despite only being on a regular horse. He had fallen off several times already, and they were no longer riding at a gallop as they had been but at a steady trot so that Blue would remain saddled. It didn’t help that much, though, and Blue was currently hanging off to the side of the horse, praying to Gods and Authors that the horse wouldn’t try to take any jumps.

Drabble 54

Finished 4:00 on the dot.

There was only one thing that Tzu wasn’t prepared for. “Why does my horse have wings?” asked Raven, staring, dumbfounded, at his newly winged horse. “Why does my horse have fucking wings?” Raven asked again.
“I don’t know and it’s not important;” snapped Tzu, “just shut up and get on the damn thing.” Raven continued to stand and stare, wondering what could possibly have happened during his absence and, more importantly, just how he was supposed to ride a winged horse – he wasn’t even sure how he was supposed to get into the saddle with the wings blocking the way.
