It
had been more difficult than Blue had expected to kill the children
from atop his horse. He
had eventually dismounted and killed them on the ground, but he'd had
to chase them down because his unsuccessful attempts at a mounted
attack had given them a chance to flee. He didn't get back until
late, and walked blood though most of Raven's cottage without even
realising. When he did notice he considered cleaning it up before
Raven got back, but it was late, he was tired, and Raven had
been complaining he'd been bored, so he decided to leave it.
